Several days ago I visited one of my all-time favorite book stores, HALF PRICE BOOKS (many pics to come later). This one is their main store on Northwest Hwy. in Dallas (they have many much smaller satellite stores). Their selection always seems infinite, most books are half of the cover price, used and often in very good shape, or they're overstocks, etc. Anyway...

Before I hit the store for some shopping, I dropped in on the store's little corner bistro, BLACK FOREST COFFEE. I enjoyed a lovely mocha and an excellent piece of Chocolate Amaretto Cake.
I apologize for some of the blurry pics. I think the very sexy, Gothy coffee girl was making me tremble with lascivious imaginings––she even looks like a scrumptious dessert when out of focus. (Oh why can't I be young again?) (Doh!) :(

 STUFF THAT STOCKING!

 A CATCH IN TIME
by Christopher Alan Broadstone

Only $9.99 or $1.99!

"10/10! A CATCH IN TIME grew so vividly and beautifully absurd…I could not take my eyes off the book for long…C. A. Broadstone has easily convinced me that his writing style is indeed brilliant." –– Oliver Lippert, The Huffington Post

"A CATCH IN TIME speeds forward into that fever dream state that plays like a hallucination out of Dante’s Inferno..." –– Paul D. Marks, Author of "White Heat"

“A horrific tale with sensational literary motifs of the Nazi horror, A CATCH IN TIME is a novella you must read.” –– Christopher Zisi, Zisi Emporium For B-Movies

Drove over to the edge of the SMU campus to grab lunch at one of my favorite restaurants for Chicken Caesar Salad and Potato Soup, LA MADELEINE Country French Cafe. Their Caesar dressing is outstanding––you could blindfold me and I'd know I was at LA MADELEINE with the first bite. As well, the bistro is an amazing bakery and this particular location is great for ogling hot, rich college girls too! (If only I was 25 years younger and with a law or medical degree.)

Took a short drive over to downtown Garland this afternoon, just to see what's there these days. I was surprised to find some cool restaurants on the old square and also a hip coffee & wine shop/bakery/restaurant. GENERATOR has free WiFi, a great atmosphere, and a lot of seating. I'll be back soon for some Kindle reading, another mocha, and maybe even a little lunch.

MAY BE DISTURBING TO SOME VIEWERS!

Motel Madness @ Motel 6: Election Day 2016
(L.A.-To-Dallas Series_Ep-04)

While moving back to Dallas, Texas, writer & filmmaker C.A. Broadstone found himself stuck in a Motel 6 on the outskirts of Los Angeles, California...Election Day, Tuesday, November 8th. On such a day very strange things can happen.

THE PORCH!––an outstanding high-end comfort food eatery.

Love this place. Check out that delicious cheeseburger with cheddar, pickles, onion, and The Porch special hot sauce. And WOW! Look at those onion rings! I had to use a steak knife on those monstrous delicacies.

Also, look for the parents and "The Ghost Of Mom" in the front door window.

For dinner Saturday night, we returned to one of my parents' favorite restaurants, LA DUNI. The food is Latin and on the slightly more gourmet side, but very, very delicious. They also excel at coffees and deserts (sadly, of which, we were too stuffed to partake in). And LA DUNI boasts a peaceful and pleasantly dark atmosphere
