Brilliant idea! Instead of telling people to put away their cameras at a concert, tell them to get 'em out and start videoing like crazy!
One of my favorite bands SLIPKNOT cut the video production costs to nothing to shoot some new live videos. Of course, the process would amount to a ton of video review and countless editing options, transcoding, and storage of the beast in post-production––Yikes! But nonetheless a great result with fan footage shot on smartphones.
EXPLANATION: On August 19, 2015, Slipknot invited fans to film "Before I Forget" from their point-of-view at the Red Rocks show in Morrison, CO. This was the result. Thanks to everyone who participated and submitted footage.
Saw the trailer yesterday on the big screen for the new BLADE RUNNER 2049!
Looks like it could be great, but hard to tell. Nonetheless, with
RIDLEY SCOTT involved, HARRISON FORD reprising his role as an older
Deckard, RYAN GOSLING starring, and DENIS VILENEUVE directing (SICARIO,
ARRIVAL) well...if they can't make it work, no one probably can. BLADE
RUNNER is one of my favorite and (for me) most influential films of all
time. Hope this one doesn't blow it.
Saw KONG: SKULL ISLAND yesterday and actually enjoyed it quite a lot!
It isn't the classic beauty and the beast angle, but instead is a full
on action-adventure set in 1973 at the very end of the Vietnam War. If
you're looking for a high-end, modern-FX driven LAND OF THE LOST/THE
PEOPLE THAT TIME FORGOT type of flick you'll like KONG: SKULL ISLAND.
Definitely a popcorn munching good time.
Enjoy MARC FURMIE's excellent directing and JAI KOUTRAE's outstanding acting. Give it a go, it's worth a watch, in my opinion. The only reason it has a 2 star rating is because viewers are expecting another ALIEN or INDEPENDENCE DAY. TERMINUS is much more of a human side of the invasion equation and is a great example of a solid space odyssey you can unfurl without an explosion a minute or a laser canon. :D Light a candle, make a hot mocha, sink in, and enjoy!
Please check out filmmaker extraordinaire Marc Fratto's recent short (very well done) DON'T FEED THE TROLL,
which has also just been selected for this year's NEW JERSEY HORROR CON
& FILM FEST. Congrats, Marc!
Also, many thanks to Marc for helping spread the word about my skills and Black CAB Editing.
