I've always had an obsession with Antarctica. How stark and beautiful it is, but also how the reality of its amazing landscape and locality is so brutal and deadly. This 2014 documentary, ANTARCTICA: A YEAR ON ICE, is a unique film in that it focuses on the tradesmen –– the real people –– that work and live there. Its not about the scientists, but about those who keep the bases open and operating year round. Well worth a watch. Newly streaming on Netflix. 3:) Checkout the trailer and be sure to view it in HD.
