I saw ANNIHILATION (Directed by ALEX GARLAND––"Ex Machina") this morning and quite enjoyed it!
Starring NATALIE PORTMAN, JENNIFER JASON LEIGH, and OSCAR ISAAC, the film is quite riveting and also very interesting to look at––beautifully bland to begin with, yet morphs organically into an oddly disturbing color palette of grayish neon rainbow pastels––psychedelic with morbidity, macabre; everything real yet not quite so. The methodical pace of the film works for a great undercurrent of tension and dread, which is punctuated by moments of horror-stylized violence that might find you gripping your seat.
In the end, will you understand what has truly occurred in "The Shimmer"? Yes. And no. A modern TWILIGHT ZONE, not unlike EX MACHINA, director ALEX GARLAND has again created a very intriguing and smart film that is also fun to watch. Check it out if you're looking for a trip down Different Lane and Oddly Creepy Blvd.

MOVIE UPDATE––
HNM+ a.k.a., "Human No More (The Feature)"
The script of the prequel story is in the writing stage, by yours truly, but I am in need of any OLD or DAMAGED MANNEQUINS or MANNEQUIN PARTS, not unlike the ones shown in the picture below. If anyone knows where I can collect some that are being discarded or dirt cheap (and I mean dirt cheap) please contact me ASAP. Thank you so much!

There are several great old cemeteries near to my current home in Garland––I even wrote a short story, SMILEYS' GRAVE (and the derivative feature screenplay COLOR OF FLAME), about one: MILLS CEMETERY just down the road. But none have achieved the status of STULL CEMETERY in Kansas, it seems. lol
Learn more about STULL CEMETERY here:

Watched HOUSE OF THE LONG SHADOWS (1983)––my new B-Day Blu-ray––last night and quite enjoyed it!
A fun B-movie, old dark house tale, with four greats in one film: CHRISTOPHER LEE, PETER CUSHING, VINCENT PRICE, and JOHN CARRADINE. Excellent performances from all––true masters at their game: being their screen legend selves.
If you haven't seen this flick and are in the mood for a fun B-movie horror with a twist on a twist on a twist––all in old-school macabre-movie style––check out HOUSE OF THE LONG SHADOWS on a stormy night.
Enjoy this excellent clip with the 4 greats all together:

UPDATE!––The new feature has now been officially titled, and is
simply named after the noir/horror short film of the same name: HUMAN NO
MORE. Also, it is a very immediate prequel to the short, expanding on the characters DETECTIVE NEMO (Tony Simmons) and the killer MR. BLIGHT, and also uniquely incorporates the award-winning shorts SCREAM FOR ME and MY SKIN!
As well, I'm thrilled that today I secured the 1940s art deco-ish chair I posted about yesterday evening, for use on HNM––The Feature's primary set. Yes, the chair is now mine. Woohoo!
Enjoy this pic of the chair, waiting for me to retrieve at PICKER'S PARADISE (Garland).

3DG+ MOVIE UPDATE!––
As many of you know, my high-end, heavy duty Manfrotto video tripod disappeared on the moving truck somewhere between L.A. and Dallas last November 2016. But thanks to mom and dad making me a Very Merry Christmas 2017, I have been able to get a new Manfrotto 502HD Pro Video Head with a Smith-Victor Propod Base. Woohoo!
Since the new tripod isn't quite as heavy duty as my M.I.A. one, and can't really handle my jib arm, I was able to create/build (using two thrust bearings & hardware) a new mount on my very old tripod legs (used to film MY SKIN! and was the tripod used for Detective Nemo's VHS camera in HUMAN NO MORE), and all is working fantastic! Enjoy some pics of the up-to-speed jib arm and my new Manfrotto/Smith-Victor tripod. I'm still months away from any filming for 3DG+, but getting my video gear together is a great step.
