Coolio! Yesterday, I finally received NO BUGLES, NO DRUMS by CHARLES DURDEN. A Vietnam novel that is considered a classic by those who have read it but, sadly, unknown to many.
Opening lines from NO BUGLES:
"Right off I knew things were gonna be f#@ked up as a picnic in a free-fire zone. Had to be. Number one in the Jamie Hawkins Index of Worthless Activities: everything that starts before noon. And here those silly sonsofbitches came at four f#@kin' a.m."
